What is the Eclipse MicroPen™?
The Eclipse MicroPen™ is a device that quite literally resembles an ordinary pen. Guided over the areas targeted for rejuvenation, the Eclipse MicroPen™ utilizes a series of tiny needles to create microscopic channels in the surface layers of the skin – a process known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT). This helps the skin to begin repairing itself naturally, stimulating the production of new elastin and collagen, which can lead to smoother, more even-toned skin and a healthier, more youthful appearance.
What is the Eclipse MicroPen™ used for?
Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) with the Eclipse MicroPen™ can be performed on all skin types. This procedure can improve the appearance of a number of common aesthetic conditions, including:
- Fine lines
- Uneven skin tone
- Acne scars
- Stretch marks
- Enlarged pores
- Thinning hair
The Eclipse MicroPen™ procedure can be used on a range of body areas, including the face, neck, décolletage, abdomen, arms, hands, back, and legs. A unique feature of the Eclipse MicroPen™ is the system’s ability to be highly customized with settings that can be adjusted to suit your unique needs and expectations.
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy for the Face and Neck
When Eclipse MicroPen™ micro-needling is combined with a procedure called Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy, you can achieve enhanced facial and neck rejuvenation using the power of your own blood cells. PRP first isolates your platelet blood cells before reintroducing them into the target area. The platelet blood cells combined with micro-needling can enhance collagen and elastin stimulation for a more youthful complexion.
Hair Restoration with the Eclipse MicroPen™
In addition to rejuvenating the appearance of the skin, the Eclipse MicroPen™ is also used during Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy for hair regrowth. By combining the cell-stimulating benefits of the Eclipse MicroPen™ with injections of platelet-rich plasma, dormant hair follicles can become reactivated. With PRP Therapy, you can restore your natural hair pattern and ultimately achieve a thicker head of hair. Learn more about PRP Therapy with the Eclipse MicroPen™.
How long does treatment take?
The length of your micro-needling treatment will depend on the number and the size of the areas being treated; however, most procedures last between 30 minutes and one hour. Treatments can also be completed right here at our office for your convenience.
What results can I expect?
Results of Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) with the Eclipse MicroPen™ are often noticeable within one week, and continue to improve in the weeks that follow, as the growth of collagen and elastin in the target areas progressively replenish the skin. Patients who use micro-needling to reduce signs of age and improve skin tone may need only one treatment session to achieve their cosmetic goals; however, individuals who are trying to minimize the appearance of acne scarring or other conditions may require a series of treatments to attain the best possible outcome. The Eclipse MicroPen™ can also be used to enhance the results achieved with our professional skin care products, such as creams, gels, or serums. During your initial consultation, Dr. Reinertson will discuss all aspects of the procedure and give you an idea of how many treatments may be necessary to meet your expectations.
