Home/Blog / Thank You for Helping Us Help Them

We here at Seattle CosMedic Skincare would like to take a moment to thank everyone who helped to make our fundraiser for hurricane relief a success. We had an overwhelming amount of support from patients who wanted to be able to help those in need. That being said there has been a slight change to one of our original donation destinations.
CosMedic Skincare was raised a total of $8,795.46, to be split among the J.J. Watt’s Hurricane Relief Fund and the Houston Humane Society. As animal lovers we are so proud to say that $4,447.71 was donated today to The Houston Humane Society, which also includes extra donations from patients for that specific charity. This money will go towards reuniting displaced pets with their families, and helping others find their forever homes. As an office full of four legged family members we could not be happier to help.
We are so pleased to see the fantastic turn out that the J.J. Watt’s Houston Flood Relief Fund has had since we last spoke. They over shot their original goal by $35,000,000 which will rebuild the aspects of lives that were damaged or lost by the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. Unfortunately as we logged in today to make our donation, we were met with the information that they chose to close donations on September 15th.
After discussing several different options, we have decided, as a team, that our funds would be donated to United For Puerto Rico. In the past few weeks there have been a great many tragedies on and off American soil, and we hope that the donation of $4,347.71 will do a small part to help those effected by the devastation caused by Hurricane Irma and María. United for Puerto Rico is an initiative brought forth by the First Lady of Puerto Rico, Beatriz Rosselló, in collaboration with the private sector, with the purpose of providing aid and support to those effected in Puerto Rico by the passage of Hurricane Irma and Hurricane María. 100% of the proceeds will go to helping the victims effected by these natural disasters in Puerto Rico.
We would like to again thank everyone who helped to make this possible. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us give back to these people and animals in need.
