Also Known as Steroid or Cortisone Injections

What are cortisone injections?

Cortisone injections typically utilize Kenalog. It is administered into a skin lesion. It is used to treat specific blemishes such as cystic acne, nodules and deep papules that would normally take longer to heal on their own. It is commonly used for keloid scar revision as well. Kenalog helps to reduce the inflammation from within and assists with rapid healing at the site. Kenalog is also beneficial for helping to shrink larger blemishes.

What are the common side effects of cortisone injections?

Common side effects include redness, swelling and puffiness, a mild burning sensation, and tightness at the injection site. This is by no means a complete list of potential side effects. A complete list of side effects is available at your consultation.
