What is the Vi-Peel?
The Vi-Peel contains a blend of powerful ingredients suitable for all skin types producing dramatic results. Due to the actions of its many acids and vitamins, it will help erase fine lines and wrinkles, shrink enlarged pores, and build collagen and elastin which tightens skin. It is also effective in reducing or eliminating hyperpigmentation and provides excellent results for acne.
How long does the treatment take?
The Vi-Peel is applied at our office in less than 30 minutes. You will also be given products for your home regimen and provided detailed instructions on how to use these products.
What results can I expect?
Approximately 7 days after you finish peeling your facial skin will return to its normal PH and the final effects will begin to be visible; your skin will look luminous and glowing. Hyperpigmentation will be improved or eliminated, depending on the amount of damage. Tone and texture will be improved for a more youthful, radiant appearance. Subsequent peels will continue to enhance the results and improve overall skin health. A single Vi-Peel will achieve significant repair and add a healthy glow to the skin. Some conditions like acne scars, pore enlargement and hyperpigmentation may require multiple applications. The VI-Peel is a restorative and painless repair of damaged skin, including sun damage and acne.
How often do I need treatments?
The Vi-Peel may be repeated as often as every two weeks initially, if necessary, for damaged and problematic skin. For maintenance of average skin, we recommend maintenance treatments every three months to prevent damage and premature aging of the skin. Dr. Reinertson will evaluate your skin, as well as your goals and expectations, to make an appropriate recommendation for ongoing care.
Is the Vi-Peel painful?
Patients will briefly experience a slight stinging sensation; it will subside quickly. The peel is applied topically, and numbing of the skin will occur after the first pass. Some patients feel more comfortable with the combined use of a cooling fan with the application of the peel.
What are the common side effects of the Vi-Peel?
Common potential side effects include redness and/or irritation and discoloration (dark tan and pink marks) that may persist for several days or weeks. Peeling and dryness are common and expected and may continue for 1-2 weeks. Occasionally hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation will develop after the peel that may persist for weeks or months. This is by no means a complete list of side effects. A full list of potential side effects is available during your consultation.
Who should not be treated with the Vi-Peel?
The Vi-Peel is not advisable for patients with active cold sores, skin with open wounds, sunburn, excessively sensitive skin, dermatitis or inflammatory rosacea in the area to be treated. The Vi-Peel is not recommended for patients who have taken Accutane within the past year, or received chemotherapy or radiation therapy. The Vi-Peel should not be administered to pregnant or breastfeeding women.
What does the Vi-Peel cost?
At your complimentary consultation, Dr. Reinertson will examine your skin and discuss your concerns. She will determine how many treatments will be necessary to accomplish your goals. At CosMedic Skincare, we offer individual services and as well as package purchases that will provide a greater discount than purchasing services independently.
