CHEMICAL PEELS
Chemical Peels are one of the oldest skincare methods still in practice today. Over years and years of studies and testing - chemical peeling has become a very exact and safe procedure to perform, more so than in the years past.. At CosMedic Skincare we offer a number of Chemical Peels to suit a number of skin conditions and a number of lifestyles.
THE MICROPEEL:
- Minimal Downtime
- Ideal for 1st time chemical peel patients
- Can be done during lunch
- A 'mild or superficial' chemical peel
- Safe for all skin tones
- Ideally done in an initial series of 6 sessions
Our most popular chemical peel process is called the Micropeel. We combine a powerful yet comfortable microdermabrasion exfoliation treatment on the skin and follow this with the application of any number of chemical acids or acid combinations including: salacylic acid to reduce breakouts, glycolic acid to decrease fine lines and wrinkles, or lactic acid to promote cell turnover and anti-aging benefits. This peel is highly effective, yet gentle enough to be done on a lunch break. The face does not get extremely flakey or dry looking since we remove the uppermost, dead layers of skin beforehand.
THE OBAGI BLUE PEEL
- 7 to 9 days of down time
- 3 to 4 days of being 'blue'
- A 'deep' chemical peel
- A great alternative to laser resurfacing or surgery
- Safe for all skin tones up to type V
- Results achieved in one session
The Obagi Blue Peel is ideally done in conjunction with use of the Obagi Condition & Enhance skin care system. It is a TCA peel, one of the deepest types of chemical peeling agents available. The blue tint to this peel allows the technician applying it to ensure that it is evenly covering the treatment area - something that is very difficult to do with traditional, clear TCA acid. This ensures even distribution of the acid and allows the patient to get a deep, consistent peel as well allowing them to heal much more evenly and with less risk of scarring or unevenness.
JESSNERS PEEL
- Just 3 or 4 days of down time
- A 'medium to moderate' chemical peel
- A combination of 3 acids (salacylic, lactic, resorcinol)
- Ideal for patients with acneic and aging skin
- Can be done every 3 or 4 months
A medium depth peel that is ideal for acneic patients who also suffer from fine lines and wrinkles, or other signs of aging like sun spots. This peel tends to be a favorite once patients give it a try - and is often the 'maintenance' peel of choice done bi-annually.
BEACHING PEEL
- Just 3 or 4 days of down time
- A 'mild to medium' chemical peel
- Popular amongst darker skin toned patients
- Good for treating dark acne scars or pigmentation
- Can be done every month as needed
Darker skin tones require special care and attention when it comes to doing and chemical peel treatment. The bleaching peel is a safe, effective choice for patients with skin tones V - VI (hispanic to african american) to remove dark pigmentation due to acne scars or hereditary traits. The peeling usually lasts just a few days and the treatment can be repeated every month until the desired effect or skin lightness is achieved.

Many of our patients just can't get enough of that peeling sensation. They ask for an 'at-home' exfoliant that will truly satisfy - and we always refer them to BelleDerm's Enzyme Exfoliant. This fruit acid exfoliant not only smells great and is easy to use, you can actually see and feel the tiny balls of dead skin under your fingers as you rub the product over the skin and the enzymes begin to remove the dead layer of top cells.
